Decentralized Data Flows for the Functional Scalability of Service-Oriented IoT Systems

Abstract Horizontal and vertical scalability have been widely studied in the context of computational resources. However, with exponential growth number connected objects, functional (in terms size software systems) is rapidly becoming a central challenge for building efficient service-oriented Internet Things (IoT) systems that generate huge volumes data continuously. As scale up, centralized approach moving between services becomes infeasible because it leads to single performance bottleneck. A distributed avoids such bottleneck, but incurs additional network traffic as streams pass through multiple mediators. Decentralized exchange only solution realizing totally IoT systems, since bottleneck dramatically minimizes traffic. In this paper, we present functionally scalable separates control realization decentralized flows systems. Our evaluated empirically, results show scales well by substantially reducing both comparison flows.
